Practice make perfect
Before teaching practice, I should make a lesson plan for every topics that i will teach. Teacher mel give her lesson plan to me for the example. So, i can see format of lesson plan.
When teaching, the activity divide by 5 specific actvity. Warm up, presentation, practice, production and wrap up. I usually use song "Clap your hands" to warming up the student in grade 1 until 3 and doing brain gym for grade 4 until 6. Purpose of warming up is to make childern focus and relax before receive the lesson. I know, mathematics is hard to understand, so i bring the material into something fun, real and relevant with their life. And make the enjoy before learn. But it not too long, just about 5 minutes.
Second, presentation. I shoul give some materials to student so they can discuss about that. I have 10 minutes to give main purpose of the lesson. And i really like when student give all their attention to me. The i will give them some question for practice time. For practice time, we need about 15 minutes.
After that, the student discuss about materials and do their worksheet for 25 minute. We called it, production time. So, student making or doing something. And I use worksheet for evaluate them.
Last, Wrap Up. I ask the student to submit their worksheet then give them review before class end. Sometimes, we playing gae about the topics that we learn that day. Because children love sing, dance and game.
